J. Frank Troy Senior Center
The GTUL senior program at J. Frank Troy Senior Center exists solely to improve the lives, health, and the quality of life of Toledo’s elderly. Seniors are assisted in the areas of social services, professional health services, daily living experiences, educational, social issues that affect their well-being and opportunities for personal growth by facilitating the acquisition of new skills.
The center coordinates opportunities for older people to become involved in the community while serving the interest of the participants and the needs of the community at the same time.
The GTUL Senior Program at J. Frank Troy Senior Center hours of operation are from 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Services Provided
- Escort- Accompany older persons assisting with shopping, banking, medical and legal appointments and other errands.
- Transportation - Enables seniors to receive services at the center. Seniors are transported from their residence to our facilities via a comfortable air conditioned van.
- Education - Provides opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills through formal classes.
- Health Assessment- Provides basic diagnostic testing and health monitoring.
- Socialization - Promotes the well-being of older persons through participation in group activities.
- Support Services - Translate materials, help seniors in filling out forms (i.e. heating bill assistance), income tax returns, and Medicaid/Medicare applications.
