Background

In October of 1994, a local group of concerned citizens began a movement to establish an Urban League Affiliate in the Toledo area. This effort resulted in the organization, planning and development of the Toledo Urban League Sponsoring Committee which included a working subcommittee for satisfying applicant status requirements
In August of 1996, the Greater Toledo Urban League, Inc. was officially established as a National Urban League Affiliate.
